A young girl hospitalised since birth is able to leave her ward for a short time and comes to see a concert in the atrium of the Royal Eye Hospital, playing the piano beside a musician who has been visiting her each week on the ward.

Friday 14th February @ 2pm – Royal Eye Hospital: Sidiki Dembele (Camel Ngoni/Ngoni), Holly Marland (Piano/Voice), Abel Selaocoe (Cello) – this distinctive trio blends a variety of sound worlds from across Africa, with a hint of English folk. Sidiki is the second son of a griot family in the Cote D’Ivoire and one of the UK’s most respected West African artists. From the township Sebokeng, near Johannesburg, Abel is a prize-winning cellist currently studying at the RNCM and hailed as one of South Africa’s finest young talents. Holly is a member of the LIME Music for Health team at CMFT and a regular in the CMFT concerts series.
