The Autumn Concerts Series delivered by LIME Music for Health (Patron Jools Holland) is underway with three concerts taking place this week and next week in the Eye Hospital atrium.
The series opens with a special performance given today, Friday 3 October at 1pm by Lime’s three Music for Health specialists, Ros Hawley, clarinet, Mark Fisher, guitar, and Holly Marland, kora and voice. Combining Klezmer, Greek and West African music with original compositions and songs used in their ward work, this trio will uplift and inspire, creating a unique and beautiful tapestry of sound.
Wednesday 8 October: Manchester Reed Trio – Music in Hospitals present a perfect combo of oboe, clarinet and bassoon performing beautiful renditions of popular classics, show tunes, and contemporary chart toppers.
Friday 10 October: Kathe Reade – After a career at the cutting edge of public sector leadership, and her last role as Chair of NHS East Lancashire, Kath has become a Qualified Sound Healer, Gongmaster and Reiki practitioner. Playing Tibetan singing bowls! gongs, ocean drum and using her voice, Kath creates a beautiful and relaxing soundscape. http://www.deepsong.org
