We are so grateful to Pierre Flasse and Ollie Thompson, who very recently completed the Manchester Marathon and successfully raised £698.82 for our Songbirds programme! All funds will be used to buy instruments to use to make music with our very special Songbirds patients. Here, our fabulous runners have written a short blog about their experience:
So here we sit, on the other side of completing the Manchester marathon! It was an experience like nothing else and thanks to our training we actually really enjoyed the run on the day! About half a year ago we were discussing getting stuck in on a bit of a challenge. We already knew Ros Hawley (one of LIME Music for Health’s Specialised Musicians) from her work at the University of Manchester, and we’d seen LIME Music for Health’s Songbirds programme in action and just felt it resonated quite strongly with us. Their work is really inspiring in aiding patients across Manchester and we felt the will to help out! We’ve received a huge amount of support from friends, family and the charity and want to pass a great thank you to everyone involved and to everyone who donated! We raised a final sum of £698.82!
